ASUS, a longtime leader and innovator in the computer industry has just announced their newest incarnation of ATi’s 5750.
Most card partners in the industry choose to leave the basic layout and cooling setup of their cards untouched. Most of the time they focus on the physical clocks and performance they can offer the end user. ASUS however with a few other’s chooses to walk the path less travelled. Known in the past for their Formula and Matrix series custom cards, the newest 5750 keeps with their Formula tradition.
Unchanged in this new layout is the basic clock settings on the card. It still features a 700mhz Core and an effective memory bandwidth of 4600mhz for the 1GB of onboard DDR5. Basically reference figures for those unaware. It all comes down to the cooling. This new no-referance cooler is said to produce almost 107% more airflow over the heatsink surface , which as ASUS states could drop the running temperatures by as much as 13%. Very good claims that one can hope prove true when this card gets blooded in the open market. From a design standpoint , it bears the same resemblance to a Formula 1 car that we have come to love in this series of Cards. Giving those with a clear sided case, something truely unique to look at.
With better cooling should come better overclocks, given that this card should have a greatly increased thermal headroom.
Pricing and Availability have not yet been stated, but it should still fall in the mid-ranged pricing we have enjoyed in the 5750 Series
